Due to weather conditions in Pakistan, dog shows have rather a short show season. The dog show season starts in the mid of November and it goes till the end of March each year with the total of 3 All Breed Championships per city, organised by The Kennel Club of Pakistan.

In all the Kennel Club of Pakistan's authorized championship shows, dogs are judged in the following classes:

  • Minor Puppy Class - 6 to 9 months old
  • Puppy Class - 9 to 12 months old
  • Junior Class - 12 to 18 months old
  • Youth Class - 18 to 24 months old
  • Open Class - 2 years above old
  • The dogs in the Minor Puppy, Puppy, Junior and Youth Classes are graded "Very Good", "Good", "Average" and "Not Satisfactory". Therefore, VG-1 is the maximum grading the dogs entered in minor Puppy to Youth classes can get. more..

    To become a "Youth Champion", a dog must earn a total of 15 Youth Championship Points, but not more than 5 points under any one Judge, and must get at least one Very Good-1. Points earned from Minor Puppy to Junior Classes are counted ONLY towards Youth Championship.

    The dogs in the Open Classes are graded "Excellent", "Very Good", "Good" and "Satisfactory". Dogs qualifying for Junior/Youth Classes are also eligible to compete in the Open Class. more..
